This article describes discount eligibility under the NTT Transactional Model.
Eligible Component List
To the extent any general discount to the Usage Pricing Terms is set out in the applicable Order, the following table specifies the components or usage categories of the Microsoft Azure Services that are eligible to receive such discount:
Identifying Eligibility in Azure’s Usage Details Report
Azure Meter Type | Discount Eligible | Azure Reference |
Reservation Usage | NO | Reservations What are Azure Reservations? |
Marketplace Usage | NO | Azure Marketplace |
Spot Usage | NO | Azure Spot Virtual Machines |
Savings Plan Usage | NO | What is Azure savings plans for compute? |
All other Azure Usage | YES |
Within the Azure Cost Management functionality, there is a Usage Details v2 feature that provides a CSV file with a daily breakdown of consumed quantities and estimated charges. Within this file, users can identify the specific meters that fall in these non-discountable categories using the logic described in the table below. Note that Microsoft periodically updates the format of this report, so the methodology may change over time:
Azure Meter Type | Current Usage Details v2 Logic |
Reservation Usage | If any of the following columns are populated, the usage row is related to Reservation usage: ReservationId ReservationName ProductOrderId ProductOrderName Term |
Marketplace Usage | If the PublisherType column is populated with “Marketplace”, the usage row is related to Azure Marketplace usage |
Spot Usage | If the PricingModel column is populated with “Spot”, the usage row is related to Spot Virtual Machine usage |
Savings Plan Usage | If the benefitId column is populated, the usage row is related to Savings Plan usage. |
Identifying Eligibility in Nebula Usage Reports
With the exception of the Nebula Detailed Usage Report (which is designed to match the format of the Usage Details v2 report described above), the reports will identify the category of usage: RI, Marketplace, and Spot. “PAYG” is used for all other usage, which represents the discountable components. For more information, see Introduction to Usage Reporting.
