Overview
As described in the Introduction to Usage Reporting article, the NTT Transactional Model is designed to base calculations on Azure’s Retail Pay-As-You-Go rates. However, these rates are published only in USD and must be converted to JPY/USD. This article includes the historical and current conversion rates used by Nebula for Discount Eligible Meters as described in more detail in Nebula Usage Calculation Methodology
Conversion Rates for Discount Eligible Meters
For all “discount-eligible” meters as described in Discount Eligible Azure Meters, Nebula re-rates usage using Microsoft’s published USD retail rates multiplied by the applicable exchange rate as follows:
Usage Month | JPY-USD Rate | AUD-USD Rate |
August 2020 through April 2023 | 112 JPY to 1 USD | 1.373 AUD to 1 USD |
May 2023 through August 2023 | 128 JPY to 1 USD | 1.373 AUD to 1 USD |
September 2023 through March 2024 | 128 JPY to 1 USD | 1.49656 AUD to 1 USD |
April 2024 to current | 150 JPY to 1 USD | 1.49656 AUD to 1 USD |
NTT will endeavor to review the above exchange rates every 6 months, and based on in-currency changes made by Microsoft, the JPY and AUD rates for future usage months may be updated periodically with 30 days notice. For the avoidance of doubt, publication of the updated rates to this (or a successor) webpage will be deemed as a sufficient method of notice.
